Christmas Ornament Crafts
If you are looking for some simple Christmas ornament crafts, you have come to the right place. Ornaments are not only fun to make, but they can cost little money, and are fun for even kids.
Many of the ideas require materials that you can find around your home; such as: burned out light bulbs, toilet paper tubes, old puzzle pieces, etc.
Puzzle Wreath
For this first Christmas ornament craft you will need the following: 15 puzzle pieces, green paint or spray paint, 18 red pom poms, 1 bell (optional), ribbon, and glue.
First, you will need to pain the puzzle pieces.
Second, you will need to arrange the puzzle pieces into a circle and glue them together.
Next, you will need to glue on the red pom poms, preferably in groupings of three, around the wreath.
Lastly, you will need to glue on the ribbon, for the hanger.
If you would like, you can also glue an extra piece of ribbon, formed into a bow, at the top of the wreath, and then glue the bell on top of the bow.
Orange Juice Can Lid
Christmas ornament crafts can be very simple, yet elegant. I loved doing this next ornament craft as a child.
You will need: orange juice can lid, glue, ribbon, a Christmas drawing that will fit in in the space of the lid, nail, and hammer
First, choose a symbol or picture that you want to decorate your lid with (drum, angel, candy cane, etc).
Second, strategically, make dots around the perimeter of the drawing (you will be tapping holes with the hammer and nail). You may want to tape the picture in place so it doesn’t move when you start tapping holes.
Next, take the hammer and nail and gently tap holes in the lid.
Remove the picture from the lid. You should still be able to recognize what the picture is.
Next, take some ribbon to create your hanger. Glue it to the back side. You may also want to create a small bow to glue where you have connected the hanger.
There are several other easy Christmas ornament crafts you can do with small children. To name a few, you can also create angels out of pine cones, popsicle sleds, and reindeer from clothespins.
