Christmas Santa Claus Crafts
Christmas Santa Claus crafts are fun for children of all ages. These fun, easy crafts require materials that you probably have around your house if you are a parent.
Santa Puppet Craft
This wonderful activity will take you about 1/2 hour to complete with a three-year-old. If you want to make other Christmas characters, you could put on a puppet show.
For this craft, you will need: brown lunch sack, red and black construction paper, scissors, glue, cotton, googley eyes, and a black marker.
First, you will want to cut out red paper for Santa’s clothes and hat. I find it easiest to cut Santa’s coat the size of the paper bag.
Next, glue the red paper coat onto the body of the bag, and the hat on the flap part of the bag.
Then, cut a black belt for Santa’s Coat. Glue it on the coat.
Next, you will want to glue some cotton on the trim and tip of the hat, and coat bottom. You can also create Santa’s beard with some cotton.
Lastly, you can either glue on googley eyes or draw them in.
For a fun puppet show, you can create reindeer puppets, snowmen, etc. Just use your imagination. This can keep kids occupied with fun, hands-on activities for a long time.
Santa Claus Baby Food Jar
You will need: baby food jar (cleaned out and dry), red construction paper, cotton balls, googley eyes, scissors, and glue
First you will need to cut out a circle of the red construction paper. Make it about double the size of the jar.
You will be creating this circle into a hat, so put a dot in the middle of the circle and cut a slit from one edge to the middle.
Next, you will overlap the edges to make a cone. Before taping it in place, put the cone over the lid of the baby jar to make sure it fits correctly.
Take cotton balls, and stretch them out to make the trim for the hat. You can also glue some on for the tip.
Next, create a beard and mustache for Santa. Shape the beard and hair with glue on the jar and attach cotton balls.
Cut out some construction paper for the nose and mouth. Depending on what color you want you can choose red or black. Glue them onto the Santa jar.
Glue on the eyes, or you can also make these out of paper.
You can turn this Santa Claus craft into a fun gift by filling it with candy.
*These Christmas Santa Claus crafts are fun, especially for children. If you are thinking of a gift to give a teacher or neighbor, these jars make fun and cheap gifts.
