Christmas Wreath Crafts

Christmas wreath crafts are fun and relatively easy. I’m sharing two of my favorites that are easy to make.

Pine Cone Wreath

Materials you will need: 8 or more pine cones, wire hanger, duct tape, items to decorate your wreath (i.e. silk poinsettia flowers, Christmas bows or ribbons, holly), craft glue or hot glue, wire cutters, scissors

1. Cut the wire coat hanger in half after straightening it out. (Technically you can create two wreaths from one hanger.) Put one of the halves into a circle and wind up the ends together to secure the shape. Use the duct tape to cover the entire circle shape. This gives a better surface to stick things to.

2. Once your circle is formed, secured, and taped, you can glue on the pine cones (I think hot glue works best for this). Decorate the pine cones as you would like. I like using ribbons and silk or fake holidays flowers. You can make your Christmas wreath crafts as interesting or beautiful as you wish.

Garland Christmas Wreath

Materials you will need: 2 paper plates, stapler, at least 4 feet of garland, tape, glue, ribbons

1. To get your wreath base, cut out the center of both plates. Place the paper plates together, facing each other so that the bottom side is facing out on each. Using the stapler, staple around the edges to keep them together.

2. Take the garland (if you have more that four feet, that will be better). Tape one end of the garland up in between the two plates in the middle of the plates. Then, begin wrapping the garland around the circle. Make sure that you completely cover the paper plates. When you get back to the place where you first inserted one end, put a glob of glue at the end of the garland and tuck it in the between the plates in the middle circle.

3. Once everything is secure, you can fluff out the garland.

4. You can then tie bows and glue them on the wreath. You may also want to decorate it with small ornaments or holiday flowers that are lightweight. You could also create your own shapes and decorations with fabric scraps or scrapbook paper.

You can do these Christmas wreath crafts with children as long as you help them with the wire cutting and hot glue gun. Have fun making these beautiful, easy-to-make wreaths.
