Reindeer Crafts
During the holiday season, it is very fun to create reindeer crafts. Depending on the person who is going to make them, you can find very complicated reindeer craft ideas to very basic ones. For this specific craft, you will need few materials, and it is simple for small children to accomplish with a little bit of help.
Reindeer Mask
Materials needed:
- Two different shades of brown paper (preferably, dark brown and light brown. A grocery sack could even work for this.
- Popsicle stick
- A pencil
- Glue
- Two googley eyes
- One red pom pom
1. You will begin by tracing both hands on the dark piece of paper (construction). If you are helping a child, make sure to get the entire hand.
2. Cut out both hand tracings. These will end up being the reindeer’s antlers.
3. Using the lighter colored brown paper, you will cut out a teardrop shaped head. Try to keep things proportionate with the antlers that have been created.
4. At the bottom of the antlers (hand cutouts) put a line of glue. Glue them to the back of the head cutout.
5. Glue the two eyes in place.
6. Then glue the red pom pom in place for the nose. To make sure it sticks, you may need to hold it in place for a few seconds.
7. Using the pencil (or a black marker), draw a mouth.
8. Take the popsicle stick and glue it at the bottom of the head. Make sure you secure it on the back side of the head so that it doesn’t detract from the cute face you have created.
9. When all the glue is dry, you can have a lot of fun pretending you are a reindeer; better yet, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer.
Fun and easy reindeer crafts like this one can bring a lot joy into your child’s life. This project doesn’t take very long to complete and doesn’t require a lot of resources. Take 10 minutes to give your child something that they can play with for a couple of hours.
